Hello world! And welcome to my site!

The shoes are off, and the site is up! I hereby welcome you to my brand new site, hot off the press, steaming out of my coding basement, and fresh on the net.

The website design is simple because I wanted room for it to grow (and because I only recently learned how to design with WordPress, let alone a text-editor). I would really like some feedback on how it works, and areas of improvement. I could have spent a lot more time tweaking and changing it, but I figured it would be best to just get it out there.

I went through different stages with the design. At first I wanted to include some birds I had photographed, plus a pencil and a paint-brush to symbolise artistry. Here is my first header design:

The first header was full of paint and birds. It was HUGE!

After some thought I went for something a little bit simpler:

This header was better, but still too messy.

I settled on the current header after thinking about what my website said about me. My first two basically said I was an ornithologist painter who likes to use old tape and half-destroyed images.

So what do I want?

I want to write about my experiences as a graphic design student and subjects related to graphic design. I hope to get in touch with other designers (and other people), and discuss and share our thoughts. Maybe one day, if I’m really lucky, someone will want to let me use my pencils and birds to create something for them.

Thank you for visiting my website! I would be happy to hear any comments or suggestions in the comments below.
