Spoof ads: Life Takes Visa (School project)

In this assignment the task was to analyse a company’s advertising house style, and then create two spoof advertisements commenting on social or environmental issues that can be linked to the product or company.

I chose the Life Takes Visa Campaign, and decided to comment on consumer debt, and how difficult it can be for many to get rid of it, and get clear of the credit card companies.

In the first ad, I drew a coffin filled with unpaid bills. The banner across shows that the ‘luxurious’ coffin has been claimed to cover debt. The copy suggests that even in the afterlife, your debt is not paid.

The second spoof ad depicts a racing shirt with cheese ads, and some cheese on the floor. This symbolises the ‘Rat Race’, where people live from paycheck to paycheck and are not financially independent.
